About us

Small batches, poured by the same hands every time

MC Golden Candles is a small studio making soy candles, wax melts, diffusers and sprays — the kind of scent that makes someone stop at your door and ask what's burning.

How it started

One jar on a kitchen table

The first batch was never meant to be a business. It was a gift — one soy jar poured at home for family, because the store-bought version smelled sharp for ten minutes and then like nothing at all.

That jar got noticed. People asked where it came from, then asked for their own, then asked for four to give away. Within a year the kitchen table had turned into a proper studio bench, a wax melter and a shelf of oils weighed out by the gram.

We never wanted to be the biggest candle company. We wanted to be the one you reorder.

The method hasn't changed. Every batch is still weighed by hand, poured by hand, cured for a full week, and burn-tested before a single label goes on. If a batch doesn't throw the way it should, it doesn't ship — it goes home with us.

How every batch is made

Four steps, in this order, every time

The order matters more than people think — rushing any one of these is what causes a candle to tunnel, sweat or smell flat by the third burn.

Step 01

Weigh

Wax and fragrance are weighed to the gram, never measured by eye, so batch nine smells exactly like batch one.

8–10% fragrance load
Step 02

Pour

Oil goes in at temperature and gets stirred for two full minutes so it binds to the wax instead of sitting on top of it.

Poured at 135°F
Step 03

Cure

Jars rest undisturbed for a full week. This is the step most makers skip, and it's the one that gives a candle its room-filling throw.

7 days minimum
Step 04

Test & label

One jar out of every batch gets burned end to end. If the melt pool or the throw is off, the whole batch stays home.

What goes in

Four things we don't compromise on

100% soy wax

Grown, not refined from petroleum. It burns cooler and cleaner, which is why our jars don't leave grey marks on your ceiling.

No paraffin · No wax blends

Phthalate-free fragrance

Skin-safe oils tested for candle use, at a full load so the scent carries across a room instead of stopping at the jar.

No phthalates · No dyes

Cotton wicks

Lead-free cotton, sized to each jar diameter so the melt pool reaches the edge without the flame running hot.

No lead cores · No zinc

Reusable vessels

The jars are meant to outlive the candle. Wash the last of the wax out with hot water and they make good brush pots and plant cuttings holders.

Recyclable boxes · Minimal filler

"I still pour the first jar of every new scent myself, and I still light it at home for a week before anyone else gets to buy it. That's the whole quality check — would I keep this one on my own shelf?"

The road here

From a kitchen to a studio

2019

The first pour

One batch of eight jars, made as gifts. Six were spoken for before they had labels.

2021

Beyond candles

Wax melts and room sprays joined the line so the same four scent families could carry through a whole house.

2023

Out of the kitchen

A dedicated studio with a proper melter, a curing shelf and room to pour a hundred jars at a time — without giving up the hand-poured method.

2024

On other people's shelves

The first boutiques and salons started stocking us, and reed diffusers were added for spaces where an open flame isn't practical.

Today

Same hands, same method

Over twelve thousand jars later, every batch is still weighed, poured, cured and burn-tested the same way as the first eight.

Come find your scent

Four scent families, four ways to burn them. Start with a candle, or try a melt if you'd rather skip the flame.
